Why is the PZ server crashing?

He might be talking about our Project Zomboid server. This is not an issue on our end as the same server machine is able to host game servers with 200 concurrent players/bots in another much more resource-intensive game without any issues.

Unfortunately, every server with 20+ concurrent players tend to crash after a while in Project Zomboid. This is likely due to the servers not being optimized for higher numbers yet, and lag behind when a lot of players are on the move in different parts of the map, whereas the server netcode has to keep up with your car/other players moving into many different tiles everywhere on the map. That's why they went from 16 players to this testing phase of 32 players max. The map also lag due to the many changes from the default map when people build, change and destroy the environment whereas the server has to update everyones games to look alike.

Heres my problem

the server has a high ping

C:\Users\Prev>ping XXX.XX.XXX.XX

ping to XXX.XX.XXX.XX with 32 bytes:
reply from XXX.XX.XXX.XX: bytes=32 time=405ms TTL=50
reply from XXX.XX.XXX.XX: bytes=32 time=357ms TTL=50
reply from XXX.XX.XXX.XX: bytes=32 time=347ms TTL=50
reply from XXX.XX.XXX.XX: bytes=32 time=402ms TTL=50

Ping statistics for XXX.XX.XXX.XX:
    Packs: send = 4, received= 4, losed = 0
    (0% losed ),
Approximate round trip time in milliseconds:
    Min = 347ms, Max = 405ms, medium= 377ms

and this happen when i try to login

Our servers are hosted in Europe on good server hardware and with gigabytes of bandwidth.

Your high ping is likely caused by not living in Europe or have access to fast internet speed.

I recommend playing on a different server which would give you better ping and it might also lower the lag of everyone else on our servers.

PS C:\Windows\system32> ping XXX.XX.XXX.XX

Pinging XXX.XX.XXX.XX with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from XXX.XX.XXX.XX: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=54
Reply from XXX.XX.XXX.XX: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=54
Reply from XXX.XX.XXX.XX: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=54
Reply from XXX.XX.XXX.XX: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=54

Ping statistics for XXX.XX.XXX.XX:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 33ms, Maximum = 33ms, Average = 33ms
