Abandoned Kingdom Event [Finished]

Lore:
The king of his small realm went to a war to gain wealth and renown but it turned out to be a complete failure. King and his most loyal followers along with the army were slaughtered. Afterwards the foes have pillaged the kingdom leaving many buildings, including the royal castle demolished. From major settlements, only the trading town remained serving its purpose as neutral ground for trade and talks.

 

Gameplay:

The gameplay will be very similar to Kingdoms Roleplay. Players will roam on the remains of the land. They can make factions to fight for power or to have better chance at survival. 

 

However, I want to avoid the "rightful king" theme. The reason is in the world presented, no one cares about royality that led to the realm's destruction. Also the citizens before the war were indifferent towards their rules and virtually the whole authority that was is no more. That's why players will have a fresh start. Factions may have their own individual goals like uniting the realm under one banner and imposing authority on others. Factions should fit in lore, and by that I include no copying factions from other events and such.

Religion:

There will be no church or any other kind of developed temple by default placed on the map. I want to keep the matter of religion open in the RP and pre-made religious object prevent this goal. That's why there are some objects of cult avaliable already (like totem near swamps or stonhenge-like rocks) but they are not too exposed. So custom cults, religions and believes are encouraged but they are not forced by map or overall narrative. Players may ignore this aspect of the game or focus on it if they would like to.

 

Map objects/areas:

What's avaliable at this point from RP and factions-to-be perspective:

 

  • Neutral Town - players may trade in there and use it as neutral ground for negotiations.

[note: the town cannont be claimed, seized or fought in]

  • Tavern (made from ruined building) - neutral place where players can feast or rest

[note: players can claim it but they can't form faction (unable to declare for example)]

  • Ruined stone castle - claimed by The Confederacy
  • Wooden stronghold - claimed by Zakros' faction
  • Forest hideout - claimed by The Sons of Malice
  • Farming Village - claimed by Union of Peasants
  • Swamp Village - for medium/small faction

[suggestions - regular villagers, something custom?]

  • River boats - small faction

[suggestions - raiders, slavers]

  • Lumbermill - small faction

[suggestions - lumberjacks obviously]

  • Quarry - small faction

[suggestion - miners, slave workers + slavers?]

 

Note for quarry, lumbermill, farming and swamp village - if factions there are going with the defualt theme of the place they should be less involved in wars/diplomacy. They should seek protecton/alliance but their goals should be much less ambitious and they don't do things like raiding.

 

All faction-related places have a prison avaliable (portcullis + winch). I may add more places in the near future but for now I will wait.

To make the faction valid announce it in this thread. I'd like you to send me a message on Discord or forum before doing so in order to get everything sorted out. I encourage both large and small factions, so don't be afraid of making some fac with two of your friends.

Faction name : The sons of malice 

Base : forest hideout

Description

"The Sons of Malice are an evil underground religious sect who worship the vile god Elatt. They are considered very "edgy" by other members of the underground cult community mainly due to their name, attitude and method of sacrificing their victims which includes a fishhook and  the victims navel cavity. Overall despite the outward appearance of the Sons of Malice as a ruthless & an uncompromising cult dedicated to pursing the favour and desires of a fickle and distant deity they actually offer decent wages, an above average health insurance program and up to 2 years of maternity leave."

Base: ruined stone castle
Details: a united group of locals that have brought upon themselves the duty of bringing order back to the land by any means necessary be it diplomatic or through the sword.

Provocateur

Faction name: Union of Peasants


Base: Wheat Village

 

Description: Peasants that were left behind after kingdom collapsed formed an union to be no longer serfs under anyone.

Base: Boats landing

 

Description: A syndicate from far away looking to expand their influence have found this land ripe for their taking. The base is a expedition force of the syndicate having landed at the shores of this once great kingdom (we offer members free Friday open bar at tavern, free holidays for peoples religious days, overtime pay not included)
