Scandypandy 78
What part of History do you love the most? I of course love the Napoleonic Era, something about the aesthetics and the massive social upheaval is very endearing to me. I do however love studying the interactions between Norsemen and the Irish, ancient and medievil Irish society is something I've always found fascinating. Romans and the Republic/Empire interest me but I don't know much about it.
DrStein 2
I find a lot of stuff that happened before Rome was interesting, i find these ancient societies really cool. I also like the migration period and viking age quite a bit.

I also like the most of modern era (1400's-1800's basically). I dont like really antic history, there is a lot of strange names, especially greeks names thats sounds like grave diseases in my ears. Lexxe 10
I'm between 1200-1800. Basically the times with a way to make money and become rich, without a heavy regulating bureucratic machine like in todays world, forcing people to study for 12 years to land a shitty job. (Especially in the financial sector, having to choose a specialization and work in a cubical for 40 years). Just want to become like the Fugger family. dominance 0
Probably has to be the entirety of Antiquity as a time period. All the great civilizations that have risen and fallen and have left over so many things. 800-1200 AD is also a cool time period. Favourite leaders: Alexander the Great Hannibal Barca Scipio Africanus Khan Tervel and Emperor Leo III (unsung heros and defenders of christianity from islamic jihad, read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Constantinople_(717–718) Julius Caesar Napoleon Bonaparte Erwin Rommel
cinnaman348 1
I enjoyed learning about the Dark Ages/Middle Ages. Was one of the reasons I bought warband, thought the idea of feudalism and the way people behaved and talked was cool since it was so new to me. Just in general, I love reading stories that are of the same ilk as Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Sword and shield, strong religious presence in characters, wide range of characteristics, lots of little stories. I read Canterbury Tales in high school, but ended up really liking the genre and how intense people could be. Things then to the characters were such a big deal, in high school I never knew how big of a deal it was to own a horse back then, or how nowadays if you insult somebody you ignore them, and before it was a big enough deal to kill them and their family for insulting you. Also World War II, as it was the main focus every year in high school history class to learn about. Just a lot going on at the same time from all over the world, is amazing to go back and see it all with no rush to time, unlike the people then who were making the decisions in a hurry.
